Choosing between a natural deodorant and a commercial antiperspirant is not an easy task. Natural Body Care deodorant only masks the odour. Commercial antiperspirant prevents odour and sweat. So, should you choose an antiperspirant?
One of the main benefits of sweating is the detoxification of harmful heavy metals and toxins. So, you want to keep toxins inside your body?
Since I started this blog, I have been trying to choose natural products for my personal use. It may be relatively easy to switch to a natural eye cream or natural cleanser. However, when it comes to natural deodorants, they cannot be very clear, and finding the perfect one that works can be quite challenging.
November was my lucky month because I received a box of natural deodorant from Lafe’s Natural Body Care and felt like a little kid with a big box of gifts (hehe), big enough to last me five weeks to try them!

My thoughts
Among the various products, my favourite is the BLISS natural deodorant stick, An organic deodorant with a fresh rose and iris scent that leaves me feeling clean, dry and refreshed.
But when I have a busy day, I prefer to use ACTIVE natural deodorant stick with a sweet citrus and bergamot scent.
ACTIVE provides the best protection on hot and busy days, and I was able to get through the day without reapplying, and I didn’t notice any odour the next morning.
I love the fact that these deodorants don’t leave white marks under your arms or yellow stains on your clothes.
Lafe’s Crystal Rock Deodorant
This was the first time I tried Crystal Rock deodorant, and I honestly didn’t know how to use it. Luckily, it’s easy!
- Wet the stone and apply it to clean armpits.
- Make sure you don’t use too much water.
- Rub up and down or in circular motions and continue until your armpits are dry.
The ingredient list consists of one ingredient: Potassium-aluminum alum (natural mineral salts). Salt helps kill the bacteria that cause armpit odour. This way, the odour can be condensed or eliminated, but you may still be fluid (especially in humid and very hot climates or if you lead a busy lifestyle).
It is also used in the East to whiten the skin in the armpit area.
Lafe’s Crystal Rock spray gives me good protection on a regular day (not as good as the ACTIVE natural deodorant stick, but I’m happy with the results).
Plus, it doesn’t stain clothes or leave white (or yellow) marks. If you want to try it, you can order a mini stick, or if you’re happy with it, order a full-size one.
Things to Keep in Mind
When switching from antiperspirant to crystal deodorant (or natural deodorant in general), body odour may increase, and you may sweat more than before. This is usually called the adaptation stage.
When I switched to natural deodorants, it took my body about three weeks to adjust to the new changes, and I had to shower every day.
It wasn’t easy because I was sweating a lot at the time, but the change was worth it.
If you sweat a lot, I endorse using ACTIVE or BLISS; both work well for me when I require extra care. This is my personal opinion: even if you prefer SOOTHING and FRESH, especially their slightly stronger scents, I prefer lighter scents.
Overall, all Lafe stick deodorants are easy to apply and, unlike some natural deodorants, have a smooth formulation that is not greasy or grainy.
On the other hand, roll-on aprons take a little longer to dry, so if you don’t mind your armpits being a little damp, that’s fine, but don’t worry, it will only take a few minutes; make sure it’s dry before you put your clothes on.
As for Lafe deodorant sprays, I haven’t had a chance to try them yet. But I plan to do it soon.
Lafe’s Organic Lip Balm (Winter Mint)
Winter Mint is a usual lip balm that is also expert organic by the USDA. It covers ingredients that are great for moisturizing lips, such as beeswax, vitamin E, and essential oils such as peppermint.
Winters tend to make lips drier, and this little lip balm is an actual solution for cracked lips and preventing them from drying out. You can pick from three lip balms: Winter Mint, Mandarin Lemon, and Unscented Lip Balm. There are also coloured lip balms in three colours.
I tried the Season Mint Lip Balm and loved the way it glides on my lips, leaving them smooth and preventing chapping. When I use it, my lips stay hydrous for hours, and I only have to use it a few times a day.
I hope these Lafe body care products have helped you and will help you transition to natural products.
