While it’s easy to find a new DIY recipe, buying ingredients and containers discourages trying new recipes. Even if you’ve never made DIY recipes, it’s easier to do if you have a Simply Earth essential oils subscription box on hand. There are recipe cards, ingredients you’ll need, including 100% pure essential oils, and containers that will save you time without having to go shopping to buy them.
This month’s box includes the following recipes:
- Serum under eyes
- Natural shampoo and shower gel
- Natural conditioner
- Natural facial cleanser
- Body Scrub
- Makeup remover
This box is by far the best beauty box for DIY lovers, and each recipe is unique as it contains 1-2 essential oils. Here are two of my favourite recipes:
Under Eye Serum
This is a recipe that I have always loved to make at home, especially since I love serums and use an under-eye serum to take care of my delicate under-eye skin. This makes this recipe an easy, cheap and effective way to make your whey at home.
Ingredients
- Ten drops of geranium essential oil.
- Ten drops of cypress essential oil
- Camellia seed oil
- 10 ml roller bottle (included in delivery).
Geranium essential oil reduces wrinkles tightens facial skin, and slows down the ageing process. It also has healing properties, so it helps get rid of scars.
Like geranium essential oil, cypress essential oil also has an astringent effect, so it can help tighten the skin.
In this recipe, we use camellia seed oil as a carrier oil. This oil is an excellent moisturizer and antioxidant, and it has anti-ageing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic properties.
Directions
- Add ten droplets of each essential oil to a roll-on bottle.
- Fill the rest of the bottle with camelia seed oil.
- Gently massage the skin under your eyes.
I really like this supernatural serum; it smells like a mixture of balsamic and floral scents and hydrates my very dry under-eye area.
Because it makes my skin smooth and shiny, I prefer to use it as an evening treatment and follow it with a creamy moisturizer during the day.
Natural hair conditioner
Apple cider vinegar is an outstanding natural hair conditioner. It also removes product buildup, leaving your scalp and hair clean and shiny and reducing frizz.
If you love using apple cider vinegar to wash your hair but still hate the smell, you should try this recipe.
In this recipe, adding lemongrass essential oil will give your hair a citrusy scent, not to mention leaving it shiny and clean.
Ingredients
- One glass of water
- Two tablespoons apple cider vinegar.
- Ten drops of lemongrass essential oil.
- Five drops of cypress essential oil.
Lemongrass essential oil has sterile and antifungal properties, making it suitable for treating most hair problems. This way, you strengthen your hair follicles and get a clean scalp and healthy hair.
Directions
- Mix ingredients in an 8-ounce spray bottle.
- Before use, shake the bottle and then spray it onto your hair.
- Leave on hair for 5 minutes, then rinse.
Considering all those chemicals that are present in cosmetics, making your cosmetic products at home would be the best choice for “good health.” However, it won’t be easy to find a simple remedy that works, and purchasing what you need will take time and effort.
